Hello! I was pretty sure you were also getting treatment for Oripathy, but I wanted to ask before I made any assumptions. Are you infected? Have you been able to find a doctor for checkups?
[ Midnight gets fatigue and a few other nasty debuffs from his own Oripathy, but he also knows that the symptoms vary between people. Some people need a whole course of medications and treatments to get through the day, some can carry on with normal life with a few checkups here and there. He wants to be sure about Broca, though, whether he needs help or not. ]
[ As they both know by now, Midnight has enough words for the both of them! He's happy to use them! Too happy, probably. ]
There are a few, but I've spoken to one personally. His name's Daan — loveless on the network. I told him about Oripathy and what precautions he needs to take. He understands the risks.
[ ... He'd been very kind about it, actually. It's not unbelievable. Just... strange. ]
I didn't tell him anything specific about you, just mentioned that there's another Oripathy case here. He agreed to see you, if you're open to it.
[ There's some appreciation for the discretion on Midnight's part, but it wouldn't be Broca if he wasn't naturally wary of giving too much info to new people. ]
How much help is he going to be if he doesn't know anything about it?
In a few ways. Day-to-day, I myself get a bit tired and achey, so I was on a course of medication to help me get around. Miss Popukar gets a bit confused every now and then. I know Miss Eyjafjalla was at a fitting for new hearing aids the other day. I don't know what symptoms you have, or if you have any at all, but those are things doctors can easily help with.
[ They're both technically in palliative care after all. At this point, it's about slowing the spread and making the symptoms easier to live with. Even if an every day doctor can't do the former, they can still help with everything else. ]
On a more dire note... At least one doctor needs to know what the risks are, regardless of whether they can do anything for Oripathy or not. If one of us starts bleeding profusely, they need to take extra precautions not to let things get cross-contaminated. Or if one of us dies... They need to know how quickly they need to leave.
[ At that point, it's not about just them anymore. Even if their bodies disappear, apparently, Midnight's not ruling out the Originium in his blood destabilizing before they get whisked away. ]
[ Despite Broca having the highest concentration of that damned rock in his blood and more protrusions poking out of skin, it was Chiave who could occasionally struggle with symptoms out of his trio of friends.
Broca was likely infected first, and should probably be the one who struggles to breathe at times and has the occasional coughing fit, but somehow he isn't and he doesn't.
But he's only doing as well as he is because of the treatment he received at Rhodes Island. No telling (at least from his point of view) how long it'll take until it eventually starts to go bad for him without them.
And besides, Midnight makes a good point about what happens if one of them ends up dying... ]
[ Excellent. As long as Broca's aware he has options, that's all Midnight's asking for.
... Broca really isn't the forthcoming type, is he? He always had the other two in his little group to speak for him, as far as Midnight's aware, but he hadn't thought about whether Broca would speak up for himself in their absence. He'll have to keep an eye on him... ]
I'm living north of the bank now. Come find me if you need anything.
[ Broca can hold conversations about himself where he shares information... if jump through all the hoops to unlock friendship with him. A daunting task to be sure.
It also means he's not overwhelmed to be speaking to a doctor about his terminal illness, especially without Aosta there to encourage him to. ]
I'll keep that in mind.
[ As he fails to share his own apartment location in turn, but look! It's not like Midnight is having any trouble contacting him without it. ]

[ He's so verbose. Has such a way with words. Is just so helpful. ]
I don't know if there are any doctors here.
[ Marginally more helpful that time. ]

I'll think about it...
